Employees’ health and safety
Employees’ health and safety are SIBUR’s priority. The Company strives to comply with the highest world occupational health and safety standards.
SIBUR sees its environmental mission in processing associated gas resulting from oil production. SIBUR processes over 18 billion cubic metres of associated gas thus cutting pollutant emissions into the atmosphere by 5.4 million tonnes.
In 2011, SIBUR spent RUB 1.22 billion on environmental protection within the «Environment Quality Control» special-purpose programme.
Regional social and economic development
Many regional social projects are implemented in cooperation with regional authorities (and municipal bodies in some areas) via agreements on social and economic development.
Sports and healthy lifestyle
In accordance with its social policy, SIBUR promotes a healthy lifestyle, contributes to developing children’s and youth sports in the regions of its operation, and actively supports professional sport organisations including the Russian Basketball Federation; Spartak basketball club (St Petersburg); Zenit football club (St Petersburg); Torpedo hockey club (Nizhniy Novgorod); Tyumen hockey, football and volleyball clubs; Tyumen table tennis club; State Autonomous Institution of the Tyumen Region «Centre for Sports Training and Sports Events» (GAU TO TSSP); the regional specialised children’s and youth sports school of Olympic reserve (Tyumen); the Modern Pentathlon Federation; and the Caterham F1 Team.
